Dr Aliza Hunt is a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Mental Health Research at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at ANU. She is also affiliated with History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Sydney.
She is an Indonesian area specialist working on psychiatric epidemiology, cross cultural conceptions of mental illness, and mental health systems development. She has worked extensively on older Indonesian populations and Indonesian cultural conceptions of depression. She is also active in the Indonesian anti-pasung or freedom from forcible restraint and confinement of mentally ill persons reform movement.
