The ANU Indonesia Institute wishes to congratulate Dr Suharti, who was recognized as the 2023 ANU International Alumna of the Year for her impactful contributions to Indonesian education and governance. As the first woman to be the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Dr Suharti is celebrated for implementing evidence-based policies and advocating for gender equality in Indonesia. Dr Suharti’s academic background, including her PhD from ANU, has been pivotal in driving this change.
