2017 Indonesia Update. Political Update
In this 2017 Indonesia update, leading experts explores key issues around globalisation, nationalism, and sovereignty in modern Indonesia from different perspectives. It includes historical dynamics of Indonesia’s engagement to the global world, the emergence of new nationalism and Indonesia’s stance in the South China Sea, as well as nationalism in practice (with the cases of food sovereignty and resource nationalism) and the impact of and response to globalisation, as well as poverty, inequality and gender issues. The conference will also examine more specific dimensions of globalisation such as migrant workers and human trafficking.
